On April 24, 2024, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup met with Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), to discuss cooperation opportunities between TCS and ESCAP on digital innovation and sustainable development in East Asia.
SG LEE extended his gratitude to Ms. Alisjahbana for ESCAP’s continued cooperation with TCS, especially regarding the success of the 3rd Carbon Neutrality Forum held in March 2024. He also introduced upcoming programs of TCS, such as the International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation, expressing his hopes for further cooperation and support from ESCAP on various socio-economic issues in the region.
Ms. Alisjahbana first extended her congratulations to SG LEE for his inauguration as Secretary-General of TCS. She emphasized that TCS is an important partner of ESCAP, and asked TCS to continue to play an important role in facilitating the cooperation between China, Japan, and Korea. She also reciprocated SG LEE’s hopes on expanded collaboration between TCS and ESCAP.
