Mechanisms 16th Trilateral Cultural Content Industry Forum held in Tokyo, Japan

From December 7th to December 8th, 2023, the 16th Trilateral Cultural Content Industry Forum was held in Tokyo, Japan. The forum was presided by Mr. USHIYAMA Tomohiro, Deputy Director-General of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and attended by Mr. YUNE YangSoo, Director-General of the Content Policy Bureau, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea. Mr. Miao Muyang, Director-General of the Department of Industry Development, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, also attended the forum online. The three parties exchanged information on government support measures and recent examples for the topic "EnterTech (Entertainment + Technology) -The World of Content Business Pioneered by Digital Technology-“,and agreed on strengthening cooperation in content businesses opened up by digital technologies in the three countries.
TCS Deputy Secretary-General ZUSHI Shuji delivered congratulatory remarks at the forum. Mentioning that the importance of cultural content and digital technology was also highlighted in the recent Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, he expressed TCS’s will to further promote exchange between the three countries fully utilizing these two resources. In TCS projects such as the CCEA Tour and the Trilateral Common Vocabulary Dictionary/Workbook, traditional culture is combined with new cultural content and digital technology to expand its impact and to allow more people of the three countries to enjoy it.
The participants visited Content Tokyo, an annual exhibition in which enterprises showcased their work related to content creation, distribution, copyright, branding, and marketing. Following the visit, the Tri-Country Business-to-Business Exchanges invited top-runners of the cultural content industry to share best practices and outlooks. The presenters mainly discussed technological developments in VR, AR, XR, Metaverse, AI, character creation and sound synthesis.
