Seminar & Forum Secretary General LEE Heesup Participated in 2023 NEAR International Forum

On December 7, 2023, Secretary-General LEE Heesup of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delivered a congratulatory address at the 2023 NEAR* International Forum. The forum brought together over 200 individuals, including local government officials, representatives from regional and international organizations, experts, and university students from China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, and Russia, representing 54 regional governments.
Emphasizing the significance of NEAR as a crucial platform for multilateral exchanges and cooperation among Northeast Asian local governments, SG LEE highlighted in his speech that the TCS shares a commitment to a noble mission aimed at fostering peace and co-prosperity in the region. He expressed hope that the TCS and NEAR could strengthen their collaborative partnership through the sharing of experiences and expertise, as well as by fostering close communication and exchanges.
During the forum, SG LEE also held a meeting with Mr. LV Dayu, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Province. They discussed recent mutual exchanges between TCS and Jilin Province and mutually agreed to further enhance friendly exchanges, strengthening the relationship between the two entities.
*NEAR(Association of North East Asia Regional Governments) Forum has been held since 2007 to share experiences and discuss to promote and strengthen the cooperation among Northeast Asia.
