Mechanisms 18th ASEAN Plus Three Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2015-11-21
Secretary-General YANG Houlan attended the 18th ASEAN Plus Three Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 21, 2015. The Heads of State/Government of 10 ASEAN Member States, the Republic of Korea, Japan and the People’s Republic of China attended the Meeting. 

The leaders reviewed the progress of the ASEAN Plus Three cooperation and discussed its future direction. They underscored the importance of APT cooperation in maintaining and enhancing regional peace, stability and growth in East Asia and shared the view to promote regional connectivity in all areas of political, economic and socio-cultural fields. The leaders also exchanged views on various regional and international issues. In particular, the ASEAN Member States congratulated the successful conclusion of the 6th Trilateral Summit and the leaders expressed expectation that the restoration of the Trilateral Summit will inject new impetus for further deepening the APT cooperation. The leaders of the three countries acknowledged that the establishment of the ASEAN Community at the end of the year will also invigorate the APT cooperation. The ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and Final Report on the Follow-up to the East Asia Vision Group II Recommendations were adopted at the meeting.
