On January 22, 2025, Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) Yan Liang of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Xue Jian, Consul General of China in Osaka.
DSG Yan briefed Consul General Xue on the TCS’s key activities planned in Japan for the year. He noted that the Young Ambassador Program 2025 had recently concluded in Kyoto, marking a successful start. With Japan serving as the rotating chair of the Trilateral Summit this year and Osaka set to host the World Expo, the TCS seeks to seize this opportunity to expand trilateral cooperation in the Kansai region, deepen people-to-people exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding.
Consul General Xue welcomed DSG Yan and the delegation, speaking highly of the TCS’ contributions to promoting trilateral cooperation. He emphasized the need for closer collaboration among China, Japan, and Korea and underscored the role of grassroots and local exchanges in improving mutual perception. He noted that the Consulate-General in Osaka remains committed to advancing subnational exchanges and fostering greater understanding among the three countries.
