Seminar & Forum TCS Participated in the Economic and Trade Exchange Forum among CJK 2024 2024-10-29

On 29 October 2024, Deputy Secretary-General ZUSHI Shuji of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the Economic and Trade Exchange Forum among CJK 2024 in Chengdu, China. Hosted by the Chengdu International Chamber of Commerce, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Chengdu Office, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Korea Business Center (Chengdu), the event gathered government officials and SME leaders from China, Japan, and the ROK. 

In his remarks, DSG ZUSHI underscored the significance of SMEs as the backbone of economic growth, likening them to young trees in a forest that collectively sustain prosperity through growth and resilience. Facing global challenges, such as labor shortages and increasing protectionism in strategic industries, DSG ZUSHI praised China’s venture capital policies, Japan’s “Society 5.0” initiative, and Korea’s “K-Startup” policy for fostering SME ecosystems. 

Looking forward, he introduced TCS’s upcoming “Trilateral Innovation Dialogue” as a new initiative to enhance cooperation on emerging technologies and digitization. DSG ZUSHI reaffirmed TCS’s dedication to facilitating deeper economic collaboration and strengthening trilateral ties through active support for youth and SME development across the three countries. 

During the interview with Xinhua News, Chengdu Daily, DSG ZUSHI commended the forum’s role in facilitating exchange among enterprises and industries in China, Japan and the ROK, underscoring the significance of fostering mutual understanding and forging new pathways for regional economic integration.
