Cooperation was held online. Co-organized by the Centre for Contemporary Korean
Studies at Keio University of Japan, the Centre for Chinese Studies at Dongseo

the symposium gathered together 21 scholars and international relations experts from
the three countries. TCS Secretary-General MICHIGAMI Hisashi was invited to give
congratulatory remarks and a presentation in the symposium.
Speaking highly of the timeliness of the symposium, as well as its significance under
the current situation, SG MICHIGAMI gave a presentation on recent TCS activities
with a focus on how the TCS strived to sustain trilateral cooperation amidst the
pandemic. His presentation was met with enthusiastic support and interest, where
scholars attested to the significance and necessity of the TCS in Northeast Asia. SG
MICHIGAMI expressed gratitude for their positive recognition of the TCS’ work and
reaffirmed the secretariat’s commitment to continue to play its role of a bridge between
academia and the governments of the three countries.
The symposium was conducted in three sessions, exploring the themes of America’s
