TC Activities The 58th Tamna Cultural Festival, Jeju ROK

The 58th Tamna Cultural Festival was held from October 10 to 13 at the Tamna Culture Plaza in Jeju City. Former Culture Cities of East Asia (CCEA) and other cities from China and Japan performed during the festival. The TCS representative participated in the festival as an observer.
Tamna Cultural Festival is one of the most representative festival held at Jeju Island, since 1962. This festival is the Jeju people’s way of sharing their culture with the world. As one of the festival’s side events, folk arts performance groups from China’s Hainan, Shanghai, Ningbo and Quanzhou and Japan’s Tokyo and Aomori showcased their cultural heritage and the charm of their regional characteristics to elementary students on October 11, 2019.
To increase communication and deepen friendship among the artists, team building activity was held before the joint performance. Artists from the three countries were asked to dance in circle holding hands together at Jeju Stone Park.
During the festival, TCS representative met with officials from former CCEA cities and other cities, and discussed the facilitation of CCEA networks and future cooperation among CCEA cities.
