Seminar & Forum Trilateral Statistics Workshop

The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) hosted the first Trilateral Statistics Workshop on December 19, 2013 at the TCS office, Seoul, ROK. The workshop aims to improve the compilation of the TCS Trilateral Statistics booklet and to facilitate future cooperation on trilateral statistics.
The TCS Deputy Director-General CHEN Feng delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the significance of trilateral statistics cooperation for economic integration and community building.
A total of 8 experts from Statistical Research Institute of Statistics Korea, Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, Incheon University of Korea, Wakayama University of Japan, University of International Economics and Business of China, UNESCAP Subregional Office of East and North-East Asia, ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office and ASEAN-Korea Center participated in the workshop. Introducing statistics for CJK FTA negotiations, indicators for regional economic integration, surveillance of regional financial stability, comparison of trilateral economic statistics and statistics publications by major international organizations, they made extensive efforts to identify the demands and sources for trilateral statistics compilation, and raised expectations for the enhanced and professional cooperation on trilateral statistics.
Specific suggestions were offered on the initial draft of the 2013 Trilateral Statistics booklet which will soon be published by the TCS.
