Others SG IWATANI Shigeo Attended the Launching Ceremony of Trilateral Cooperation Studies Center of Shandong University

On June 26, Secretary-General Iwatani Shigeo attended the launching ceremony of Trilateral Cooperation Studies Center of Shandong University and delivered a congratulatory remark.
In his remark, SG Iwatani pointed out that intellectual support of think-tanks of the three countries is indispensable to trilateral cooperation and TCS has been actively pushing forward the establishment of trilateral think-tank network. He expressed hope that TCS would work closely with Shandong University to conduct cooperative projects such as personnel exchange, joint research, academic workshop, etc.
SG Iwatani also participated in the Trilateral Cooperation Summit Forum which was held right after the launching ceremony and delivered a presentation on “15 Years of Trilateral Cooperation – Cultivating Multilateralism in East Asia”. Scholars from China and Korea also gave lectures respectively on cultural identity issues in Northeast Asia from history perspective and the importance of cultural education in Korean language studies.
Before the launching ceremony, SG Iwatani had a brief meeting with the President of Shandong University Mr. Zhang Rong, who introduced that Shandong University has academic strength in the studies of history, culture and philosophy, which will inject new intellectual impetus to the trilateral cooperation.
The Trilateral Cooperation Studies Center (TCSC) is the fourth one established in China, following the TCSC of China Foreign Affairs University, TCSC of Dalian Foreign Language University and TCSC Jilin.
