Others IFRC Secretary General Visited the TCS 2015-10-26
On October 26, 2015, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Mr. Elhadj As Sy visited the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) and exchanged views with two Deputy Secretary-Generals, Mr. LEE Jong-heon and Dr. UMEZAWA Akima, on disaster management cooperation. 

The TCS introduced its history and functions and especially activities on trilateral disaster management cooperation. Dr. UMEZAWA expressed appreciation to IFRC for the latter’s support for relevant TCS activities. He also mentioned that the upcoming 4th Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management will provide guidance for trilateral cooperation in this area for the next two years and the TCS looks forward to IFRC’s continued support. 

Secretary General Sy emphasized the significance of strengthening partnership between IFRC, the National Societies in China, the ROK and Japan and the TCS. IFRC has been carrying out activities on disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and post-disaster reconstruction by working with governments and National Societies all over the world. Partnership and collaboration with the TCS will contribute to regional disaster management cooperation and benefit the people in this region.
