Seminar & Forum TCS Participated in the 7th UN Global Compact China-Japan-Korea Roundtable Conference

On October 28 to 29, 2015, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) participated in the 7th UN Global Compact China-Japan-Korea Roundtable Conference as a sponsor. It is an annual conference of the three countries’ UN Global Compact offices which brings together the people in business circles and academia, and youths to share their thoughts on corporate social responsibility. This year’s conference was held under the theme of “Prospects for the Post-2015 Business Engagement and Challenges for CJK”.
During the conference on October 29, Secretary-General YANG Houlan delivered congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the significance of the trilateral cooperation which is expected to have a new momentum through the upcoming Trilateral Summit.
In addition to SG’s congratulatory speech, the TCS supported the Youth Session where the 43 university students of the three countries presented their novel ideas for the Post-2015 development agenda and the trilateral cooperation for the response to climate change. The TCS not only provided material support in organizing the Session but also substantial contribution by offering guide materials for participants to discuss three countries’ joint response to the climate change.
On the previous day of October 28, Deputy Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon participated in the CJK Local Networks Meeting with the TCS. Representatives from the three Local Networks introduced the future plan of CJK Roundtable Conference and discussed future cooperation with the TCS.
DSG LEE Jong-heon delivered remarks in the following welcoming dinner and had pleasant talks with the youth participants from the three countries as well.
