Others Secretary General YANG Houlan Paid A Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister YUN Byung-se

On November 11, 2015, TCS Secretary-General YANG Houlan paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. YUN Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and exchanged views on trilateral cooperation. Deputy Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon and Deputy Secretary-General UMEZAWA Akima attended the meeting.
SG YANG expressed sincere appreciation to Minister YUN and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK for the continued support and guidance on the TCS and its activities. He pointed out that all three countries welcome the resumption of the Trilateral Summit and the international community is delighted to see that trilateral cooperation has completely restored back to its normal track. He reaffirmed TCS’ readiness to make its best efforts to implement the outcomes of the Summit. SG YANG also welcomed the Leaders’ acknowledgement that the creation of a Trilateral Cooperation Fund will be instrumental for further development of trilateral cooperation projects and hoped that the three Parties can work together toward this goal.
Minister YUN spoke highly of TCS’ role in revitalizing the trilateral cooperation and hoped that TCS can play a more important role in the follow-up process of the Summit. He assured that the ROK government, as the host country, will continue to support TCS in all aspects and work closely with the TCS to promote trilateral cooperation. With regard to TCF, Minister YUN said that he is glad to see the latest development at the Summit, since a fund will be helpful in conducting various practical projects. Minister YUN emphasized that trilateral cooperation may still encounter difficulties in the future, however, as long as there are common bonds and projects, the three Parties can overcome the difficulties in the spirit of cooperation.
