Seminar & Forum TCS Attended the China-Japan-Korea Young Expert Symposium on Water Management Policy Innovation 2015-12-15
TCS attended the China-Japan-Korea Young Expert Symposium on Water Management Policy Innovation on December 15, 2015 in Beijing, China. The Symposium was organized by the Research Development Center under the Ministry of Water Resources of China, with the theme of Implementing 2030 Water Development Agenda and Promoting Sustainable Utilization of Water Resources. It was a follow-up of the 2nd Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on Water Resources held on April 13 in Gyeongju, ROK. 

Vice Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, Mr. ZHOU Xuewen expressed that the three countries had actively promoted the water management policy innovation and made new progress in response to climate change and towards development of smart water technology. TCS Secretary-General YANG Houlan sent a congratulatory remark through video message where he emphasized that the water cooperation was one of the most important agendas in trilateral cooperation and TCS would continue to support the trilateral cooperation on water resources. 

About 40 experts from governments, research institutes, and relevant public and private sectors shared information, and focused a discussion on water use efficiency management policy, flood control and drought relief adaptive to extreme weather conditions, smart water technology R&D and application in the era of big data. TCS Economic Affairs Officer, Ms. KIM Yeonsoo gave a presentation on progress of trilateral cooperation and trilateral water resources cooperation.
