Seminar & Forum TCS co-organized Crested Ibis International Forum in Shaanxi Province, China 2018-05-22 ~ 2018-05-24

TCS, as one of co-organizers, attended Crested Ibis International Forum held in Yangxian County, Shaanxi Province, China from May 22 to 24, 2018, organized by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Japan-China Society and Korea-China Association for Cultural Exchange.

 

TCS Secretary-General LEE Jongheon and Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei attended the Forum and delivered Opening Remarks and Keynote Speech respectively. In SG Lee’s remarks, he introduced the outcome of 7th Trilateral Summit held in Tokyo, Japan on May 9, 2018, and underscored that crested ibis is an emerging cooperative agenda with high potential for further promoting various areas ranging from environment, agriculture, tourism to culture, arts, and local government exchange. In DSG Han’s keynote speech, she suggested that the three countries should enhance local economic development and activate tourism exchange through crested ibis cooperation, as well as establish the sustainable mechanism for organizing the Forum in the three countries on a rotation basis.

 

Under the theme of “Bond with crested ibis, co-create future”, the Forum gathered more than 200 participants including local government officials, experts, figures from friendship associations of the three countries. As the side events, cultural performance, trilateral dialogue among city mayors, and bilateral dialogues took place. The three local governments of Hanzhong city of China, Sato city of Japan and Changnyeong-gun of the ROK adopted Yangxian Declaration for the future cooperation surrounding crested ibis especially in the fields of agriculture, environment and tourism.
