Seminar & Forum 4th Pan-Yellow Sea Forum in Buyeo, ROK 2018-11-01
Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the 4th Pan-Yellow Sea Forum on November 1, 2018 in Buyeo, the ROK. The Forum was hosted by Chungcheongnam-do province, organized by the East Asia Foundation, and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the ROK. 

Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei gave a presentation on ‘Trilateral Cooperation and Vitalizing Trilateral Local Economies and SMEs’ to discuss trilateral business and investment cooperation in the Yellow Sea Rim region. DSG HAN stressed that it is crucial to build networks through participating in existing local governments’ business events and to seek business opportunities by catching regional trend in the region. In addition, DSG HAN suggested to Chungcheongnam-do province that the local governments and local SMEs could cooperate with local governments and enterprises in the Yellow Sea Rim region on renewable energy production towards low-carbon Olympic Games in Beijing-Zhangjiakou in 2022. 

Deputy Secretary-General YAMAMOTO Yasushi delivered a presentation on ‘Trilateral Local Government Exchange and the Role of TCS’ to share existing cases of trilateral public diplomacy on the local government level and its development solutions. DSG YAMAMOTO highlighted the future direction of TCS in enhancing trilateral people-to-people exchange in the areas of disaster management, sustainable development, youth exchange and Olympic cooperation. 

The Pan-Yellow Sea Forum aims to provide the opportunities of promoting group thinking on major areas and issues for local governments, organizations, businesses and civil societies in the Pan-Yellow Sea region and to draw substantial cooperative solutions on the multilateral level for concerned area and issues. This year, the 4th Forum was held under the theme of ‘Toward an Era of Mutuality and Prosperity in the Pan-Yellow Sea region.
