Seminar & Forum TCS organized the Trilateral Business Networking Symposium and Reception – Improvement of Supply Chain Connectivity 2017-07-21
TCS successfully organized the Trilateral Business Networking Symposium and Reception – Improvement of Supply Chain Connectivity on July 21, 2017 in Qingdao, China. The sponsors of this event include China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), as well as Keidanren. Representatives from Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) also participated and delivered congratulatory remarks at the event. Over 150 participants from government, business, and academia of China, Japan, and Korea attended the event.

The Trilateral Symposium for Improvement of Supply Chain Connectivity was based on the joint study on Trilateral Cooperation for Improvement of Supply Chain Connectivity, a project tasked by the three ministers at the 10th Economic and Trade Ministers’ Meeting, facilitated by TCS, and conducted by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) to assess the current situation, issues, and future direction for the trilateral supply chain connectivity. The result was approved at the 11th Trilateral Economic and Trade Ministers’ Meeting. The symposium aimed to raise public awareness of supply chain connectivity by introducing the study results in the first session and best practices in each country during the second session. The scholars and business representatives who directly contributed to the joint study also held a separate dialogue to deep dive into this topic.

The symposium was followed by the 5th Trilateral Business Networking Reception in the evening. This TCS’ annual event provided a valuable opportunity for the corporates, business associations, and entrepreneurs to exchange information, share experience, and explore cooperative opportunities.

The communication and discussion was active and fruitful at the symposium and the reception. Participants felt empowered by the in-time new information and enlarged network. The TCS will continuously provide such opportunities to raise public awareness of trilateral cooperation and realize the cooperation from a pragmatic level.
