At the invitation of the university, Secretary-General YANG Houlan visited Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL) on June 7, located in the Lvshunkou Area of Liaoning Province in China. During the visit, SG YANG explored the university campus and its Trilateral Cooperation Studies Center (TCSC) that regularly publishes its renowned academic journal, called “Northeast Asian Studies.”

LIU Hong, President of the university, introduced the center’s vision as a localized high level think-tank and its contributions to policy suggestions for regional economic development and the foreign relations of Liaoning Province and Dalian City that have been highly recognized by the local governments. She emphasized that the university would continuously demonstrate its localized advantages and develop the center. In response to the president, SG YANG said that DUFL is a nationally renowned university with a long history that has produced a number of talented individuals for Chinese diplomacy. As the only advanced education organization with TCSC in Liaoning Province, the university should make full use of its strengths, reinforce cooperation with Japan and South Korea, and provide academic support for development of Northeast Asian region. The TCS welcomes the university to produce talented graduates to work at TCS, and to make contributions to trilateral cooperation.

After the meeting, SG YANG was inaugurated as a visiting professor of DUFL and delivered a lecture which was attended by more than 300 students.
